Commissions

NYNME's mission is to support new-music composers through commissioning. Over the past 30 years, NYNME has commissioned almost 120 new works, the most recent being Trio for Flute, Bass Clarinet, and Piano by Charles Wuorinen, which premiered on April 19, 2010 at Merkin Concert Hall.

Current commission plans include a work by Zhou Long, which is scheduled to be premiered in the 2011-2012 season. NYNME is proud to announce that with a grant from Chamber Music America, it will commission a new work from Eric Chasalow, for sextet and electronic sound for the 2011-2012 season.
